Hi, I’m Deanna Hasan, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. I earned my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Florida and my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Florida.

I was born and raised in Tampa, and I’m proud to serve the community I grew up in. Opening a clinic just minutes from home allows me to work closely with local families and provide support where it’s needed most.

I have experience working with both pediatric and adult populations, with a strong focus on pediatrics. My areas of interest include AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), autism spectrum disorder, expressive and receptive language delays, articulation and phonological disorders, fluency, and voice. I’ve worked with children in a variety of settings, including K–8 schools, in-home therapy, daycares, and ABA centers, which allows me to meet children where they are and support them in ways that are both effective and practical.

Many people don’t realize the full scope of what speech-language pathologists do. We treat three of the most essential parts of life—cognition, swallowing, and communication. Being able to support these skills and help individuals communicate more effectively is what makes this work so impactful.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our dog, and my family, all of whom are here in Tampa. I love being at the beach, exploring new coffee shops, and staying active by playing soccer.

I have always been passionate about opening a private practice to support children and families, and that passion is what led me to create Sunrise Speech and Language. Being able to build this alongside my mom—after watching her work as a speech-language pathologist my entire life—is something I’ve always dreamed of, and it makes this work even more meaningful.

Hi, my name is Mary Jo Hasan! I am a certified speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience working in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, schools, and home health settings. I earned my Master’s degree in Education in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Florida and am passionate about helping individuals improve their communication and overall quality of life.

I have experience working with a wide range of speech and language needs, including articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), reading comprehension, aphasia, and swallowing disorders. In the school setting, I have provided both one-on-one and group therapy to students from kindergarten through eighth grade in the Wesley Chapel area. I strive to make each session engaging, supportive, and tailored to the unique needs of every child.

As a mother of five and grandmother of three, supporting children and families has always been close to my heart. I am especially grateful to be opening Sunrise Speech and Language alongside my daughter, continuing our shared passion for helping children find their voice.

Outside of work, I love to travel, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and spend time with my family creating meaningful memories.
